Jackson Health North Miami Beach
Ryder Trauma FAA Approved Helipad jack

The new Helipad site and Trauma Unit is part of Jackson Health Systems World Class Ryder Trauma System and Emergency Care System expansion for Miami Dade County

The project involved converting an existing parking lot into a new helipad site. The existing helipad site was abandoned due to FDOT construction the space was converted into green space. Due to the elimination of parking a new parking site was provided adjacent to the existing building site.

The heliport design incorporated FAA regulation. ELA provided the application and review process to both the FAA and FDOT. The services ELA and engineers provided included, Site Selection and flight path design, noise study for current code compliant helipads, applications to the FAA, FDOT, NFPA, State, Local and International compliance authorities having jurisdiction of the healthcare facility. The existing site lighting was replace and retrofitted and the existing landscape was redesign incorporating lower profiles to fit within the cone of flight.

ELA attended a series of community meetings and commission meetings to help obtain approvals for this project.
