Ground Floor and 2nd Floor Remodeling/Alterations
and a 22 Bed Recovery Facility
at the South Wing of Jackson Memorial Hospital
Edward Lewis Architects was retained by Jackson health system to design the ground floor and second floor of the south wing at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The project included programming 8 departments and providing design options for spaces within the hospital.
The Scope of work for the project required the relocating of the Existing Echo Lab, Pulmonary Function Lab, Gastroenterology Department, Procedure Rooms, Medical Offices and a 22 Patient recovery Room to a 37,100 sf area located on the first and second floors that comprises part of the Central Building, The West Wing and the South Wing. The project was to be accomplished in Phases.
Phase I will be the remodeling of 7,300 sf area on the first floor South Wing to accommodate the ECHO, Pulmonary, and Medical Offices related to the programs.
Phase II will be the remodeling of the 29,834 sf area on the second level of part of the Central Building, The West Wing and the South Wing.
The intent of the project is to address spatial requirements for the expanding departments while consolidating the shared patient holding area into a more central location.
