NFL Youth Educational Town Center

The National Football League (NFL) Youth Educational Town Center at Gwen Cherry Park in Liberty City is the result of the efforts of the Super Bowl Host committee chaired by Hank Adorno and NFL's commitment to the cities that host the Super Bowl.

Miami-Dade County became the recipient of a Youth Educational Town (YET) Center after hosting Super Bowl XXIX.

Edward Lewis Architects designed the YET Center at Gwen Cherry Park for the National Football League. It was a unique partnership between Dade County and the private sector of South Florida. The project is funded by a $1, million dollar grant obtained from the NFL. The remaining $2 million dollars was donated by the private sector in Miami Dade County. The facility is operated by several private not-for-profit organizations and is constructed on Dade County property.

The 22,000 s.f. facility is designed as a regional community center providing recreational and educational programs for local youths and adults. The center contains a 12,000 s.f. gymnasium, meeting rooms, arts and crafts rooms, and two computer learning labs containing 30 Digital computers.
