Grand Bahama Island international Airport
Grand Bahama Island
The Grand Bahama International Airport International Terminal opened for passenger transit July 1st 2004. The $25 million dollar design build project was delivered on budget within the 12 month construction schedule established for the project.
The new 120,000 sf terminal is the first Federal Inspection Station designed with the new guidelines established by the TSA - Transportation Security Administration for a US pre Clearance Facility.
Edward Lewis Architects, Inc. and Reef Cavalier Joint Venture (The design build team) worked very closely with The Grand Bahama Port Authority and Hutchinson Development Ltd.- Bahamas (The Owner) to develop the program and final design.
The Grand Bahama Airport Company has been overwhelmed by the positive responses that they have received from the end users and the passengers on the design and efficiency of the new terminal.
ELA is currently providing design services for Phase II and Phase III at the Airport, which includes the design of the new Domestic Terminal, the vehicular parking and traffic flow at the landside.
